Roytec Global successfully participated in MetPlant Adelaide 2026, where the company showcased the CCIX technology together with IXT SA. Roytec co-exhibited with Landsky at booths 35 and 36, engaging with industry stakeholders on the latest developments in metallurgical processing.
A key technical highlight of the conference was the presentation delivered by Dina Marais titled:
“An Alternative Metallurgical Route to Copper Production at a Nickel-Cobalt Refinery.”
The presentation examined an alternative processing route to conventional copper removal within nickel-cobalt refinery circuits. As ore complexity increases and operational efficiencies become more critical, traditional flowsheets are often challenged by impurity management and metal losses. Alternative revenue streams are also investigated to maximise plant productivity.
The paper presented an innovative approach leveraging advanced ion exchange technology to selectively recover copper from complex process streams. This methodology demonstrated several potential advantages, including:
- Improved copper recovery efficiencies through enhanced selectivity
- Reduced recirculating impurities within the process circuit
- Enhanced operational efficiency and sustainability
- Producing an alternative revenue stream
The integration of ion exchange technologies such as CCIX continues to play a significant role in advancing modern hydrometallurgical processing, particularly for polymetallic operations.
